Why Psychotherapy?

It can often happen that, at some time in our lives, we find that we are struggling to cope with, and make sense of, feelings and events that seem overwhelming. These difficulties can arise seemingly from nowhere, and can be very confusing and painful.

Psychotherapy offers a private confidential space where feelings and thoughts can be talked about and, through the relationship with the therapist, it may become apparent that what is happening now may have roots in the past. Working together may encourage a growing awareness of why we do what we do now when put in the context of our entire life history.

Undertaking this work does require commitment over a period of time and, although it may sometimes not be easy, it can be very rewarding, leading to greater self-awareness and understanding.

I also offer supervision to suitably qualified counsellors and psychotherapists, and those in training.
